Appeal for witnesses following collision in Euxton

Lancashire Police appeal for information following a serious collision on Dawbers Lane, Euxton.

The incident was reported to Lancashire Police at around 9.50pm, on Monday (July 18th) shortly before 10pm that a BMW 320D, travelling towards Chorley, had left the road and collided with a stone wall, before ending up back on the road. No other vehicles are thought to have been involved.

Two men were in the vehicle at the time and one of them – aged in his 20s – was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

The second man – also aged in his 20s – suffered injuries which are thought to be minor.

A 26-year-old man from Chorley was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has since been released under investigation whilst Police enquiries continue.

Lancashire Police are now asking for witnesses to come forward, or anybody who has CCTV or dashcam footage which can help them piece together what happened.

Sgt Helen Parkinson, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This was a serious collision and a man remains in hospital in a critical condition.

“We are now working to establish the full circumstances of what led to the collision – perhaps you saw the vehicle in the moments before the collision, or saw the collision itself? Or maybe you have dashcam or CCTV footage which can help us?

“If you can help, please get in touch.”

Anybody with information should contact Lancashire Police on 101, quoting log 1530 of July 18th.
