‘Christmas Close’ raises £4,000 for charity

Residents of a street in Thornton Cleveleys have raised more than £4,000 for Brian House Children’s Hospice.

Every year, Borage Close on Pheasant’s Wood is transformed into a spectacular festive light display, with the cul-de-sac renamed as ‘Christmas Close’, and people travelling far and wide to see the lights.

In total, £4090.22 was raised for Brian House Children’s Hospice, with a further £440 for the Children’s Toy appeal.

Organiser, David Bamber said: ‘’All of us at Christmas Close want to say thank you so much to everyone that came to view our light display this festive season.

‘’To see children’s faces light up (and some adults) makes it all worth the effort as well as raising vital funds for Brian House Children’s Hospice by way of your very generous donations.

‘’People came from all over - Eccles, Blackburn, Darwen, Oswaldtwistle, Southport and Cumbria to name a few.

‘’Thank you to Tony and Rosie who managed to divert Father Christmas and a snowman to visit, en route to collect his reindeers from the North Pole.

‘’Thank you to Road Safety Services for the loan of the traffic cones.

‘’A very special thank you must go to all the local residents of Pheasant’s Wood for putting up with the extra traffic.

‘’We wish you all the very best for the New Year and thank you for your support.’’
