Common Edge investigation works to begin

As part of the ongoing Blackpool Airport Enterprise Zone, which is helping to bring more investment into the local area, ground investigation roadworks are due to start on Common Edge Road from Monday (5 December).

The works will be completed in three phases to ensure the flow of traffic in the area. Works will be Monday to Friday during off peak hours, between 9am-3pm, to keep disruption to a minimum.

Phase 1 is due to start Monday 5 December at the junction of Common Edge Road and School Road. Four way temporary traffic lights will be in place Monday to Friday during this phase of the works, replacing the current traffic lights at the junction.

Phase 2 is due to start Monday 12 December at the junction of Common Edge Road and Division Lane East. Three way temporary traffic lights will be in place during working hours only, allowing safe access to and from Division Lane East.

Phase 3 is due to start Thursday 15 December on Common Edge Road between School Road and Division Lane. Two way temporary traffic lights will be in place during working hours only.

Road users are advised to plan ahead when making travel arrangements in this area as delays are expected.
