Police appeal after men with weapons enter Blackpool address

Police are appealing for information after masked men carrying weapons entered a property threatening two people in Blackpool.

Details have just been released about the incident, which happened at around 8.45pm on Thursday, February 23, when police received a report of an aggravated burglary in Raymond Avenue.

Two masked men carrying a machete and hammer had entered an address.

The pair made demands for money from a woman and a man, before searching the property and leaving. No one was injured during the incident.

The offenders made off from the scene, later getting into a white Ford Transit van parked on Milford Avenue. This vehicle was driven down Dudley Avenue in the direction of Devonshire Road.

Detectives are appealing for information and in particular want to speak to any witnesses, anyone with CCTV or anyone with dashboard mounted camera footage.

Det Con Stu Kane, of Blackpool CID, said: “This was a shocking incident which has left the victims very shaken and upset.

“I’m keen to speak to anyone with information about what happened.

“We know someone will be able to help us.

“Crucially, if you saw what happened or have CCTV from Milford Avenue and Dudley Avenue from that evening, please contact us.

“We would also ask people out driving at that time, in the area, to check dashcam footage, which may show the Ford Transit van described.”

Anyone with information can contact police on 101 or email 4845@lancashire.police.uk quoting log 1362 of February 23.

Alternatively information can be shared anonymously via the independent charity – Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
