Lancashire Police are appealing for witnesses and footage after the rider of an e-bike suffered serious injuries in a collision in Fleetwood.
Our officers were called around 6.35pm on Tuesday (3rd February) to Brock Avenue, Fleetwood, to a report of a collision.
They found that an e-bike had been in collision with an unoccupied parked car, with the rider falling from the bike.
The rider, a man in his late 40s, suffered serious head and leg injuries, and was taken to hospital where he remains in critical condition.
The bike was removed from the scene by someone who is believed to be an acquaintance of the rider.
Sgt Ben Elliott of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “This was a collision in which the rider of the Ebike suffered serious injuries and my thoughts are with him as he undergoes treatment in hospital.
“As we investigate the collision, we are appealing for witnesses or anyone who has dashcam or CCTV/Ring Doorbell footage from the area, to contact us.
“It is believed the e-bike was black and purple in colour, however it was ridden away from the scene of the collision before our officers arrived.
“We are very keen to locate the bike and the person who removed it – they rode it away without helping the injured rider.”
