Police are appealing for witnesses and footage after a man sadly died in a collision in Forton.
The emergency services were called at just before 9:50am on Friday morning (January 23) to Coronation Avenue, at the junction with School Lane, to a report of a single-vehicle collision.
Officers attended and found that a black Ford Kuga had left the carriageway and collided with a hedgerow.
Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, the driver of the Ford Kuga – a man in his 60s – was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Detective Sergeant Matt Davidson of the Serious Collison Investigation Unit, said: “My thoughts are very much with the driver’s family and loved ones at this distressing time.
“As we investigate the collision, we are asking for any witnesses who have not yet spoken to our officers, to come forward.
“If you were driving in the area and saw the collision then please get in touch.
"We would also benefit from speaking to anyone who saw the black Ford Kuga on School Lane or the A6 prior to the collision. If you have dashcam footage or CCTV that may assist the investigation, we would like to hear from you.”
