Three family hubs launched in Blackpool as part of a £2.8m investment in children’s futures celebrate their first anniversary this week.
Blackpool Family Hubs are celebrating after launching three hubs across north, central and south Blackpool last year.
Offering free support to local families, the Family Hub network is home to Central Family Hub (formerly known as Talbot and Brunswick Children’s Centre) on Gorton Street, North Family Hub (formerly known as Grange Park Children’s Centre) on Dingle Avenue, and South Family Hub inside Palatine Leisure Centre on St Anne's Road.
To celebrate the milestone, each hub is hosting a birthday party event, with local families of all ages invited to attend, free of charge, including funfair stalls, storytime sessions from Blackpool Libraries, face painting, a fun smoothie bike from Bike Right for families to pedal and make their own smoothies, support and advice from local services, Family Hub activity sessions, free refreshments and lots more.
Central Radio went along to the event at the South Family Hub at Palatine Leisure Centre, today (Monday July 22).

The aim of the centres, which are free and open to everyone, is to ensure more children are better prepared for starting school, keep families together when they face challenging times and improve life prospects for youngsters.
The other events take place on Wednesday 24 July at Central Family Hub from 12pm to 3pm, and Thursday 25 July at North Family Hub from 12pm to 3pm.
