Eight people have been charged as part of an investigation into the illegal supply of cocaine and ketamine in Blackpool.
As part of a week of action addresses were searched throughout the resort and a number of mobile phones, over £11,000 in cash, over 1kg in cocaine and weapons, including a Nazi War dagger, were seized.
Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, the people, aged between 21 and 42, were charged with conspiring to supply Class A and Class B drugs, and either have or will appear at Lancaster Magistrates Court in due course.
A 72-year-old woman from Blackpool arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class A Drug has been released under investigation pending the outcome of further enquiries.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: ‘’These arrests and charges came as a result of information provided by you, the community. If you suspect criminal activity is taking place in your area, we ask that you let the police know about it and we will take the appropriate action.
‘’While these arrests were part of a week of action, we want to be clear that this work is ongoing and our officers are on the streets 24 hours a day, seven days a week.’’
