Police have charged a man with attempted murder after a pedestrian was struck by a car in Blackpool.
Officers were called to Condor Grove, Blackpool, shortly before 3am on Monday 27th April after a 28-year-old man was hit by a VW Passat which had mounted the pavement.
He suffered significant injuries and was taken to hospital.
A 23-year-old man from Coventry and a 22-year-old man from Stoke were arrested on Waterloo Road a short time later on suspicion of attempted murder.
The 23-year-old has now been charged with attempted murder, driving a motor vehicle while above the alcohol limit, driving without insurance, driving without a licence, and two offences of criminal damage.
He was remanded in custody to appear before Lancaster Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old man who was arrested, has been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.
