A man has died in hospital following a collision in Catterall last week.
Police were called shortly after 8:30pm on Friday 24th January following a collision between a Peugeot van and a Carrera racing bike.
The cyclist, a man in his 30s, died in hospital on Wednesday morning. His family are being supported by specially trained Family Liaison Officers.
In the collision, on the A6 between The Avenue and Old Lancaster Road, the cyclist was thrown from the bike and suffered a serious head injury.
The van stopped at the scene.
Sgt Pete Fyans, of our Roads Policing Unit said: “Very sadly, the cyclist involved in the collision died yesterday. My thoughts remain with his loved ones at this time.
“We’re continuing to appeal for any information that could assist our enquiries, or any CCTV or dashcam footage to get in touch.”
