A number of roads will be closed today for the Blackpool Marathon and Half Marathon.
To ensure the safety of participants and the smooth running of the Blackpool Marathon & Half Marathon, there will be a full road closure in place along the seafront.
Main Promenade Closure:
- From: Gynn Square
- To: Starr Gate
- Time: 8:00am to 3:00pm
This closure affects both directions of traffic along the Promenade and includes all access roads leading onto this stretch. The closure is necessary to accommodate the event route, event infrastructure, and to provide a safe environment for runners and spectators.
Important Notes:
- Access will be restricted to emergency services and authorised event vehicles only.
- Local residents and businesses are advised to plan journeys ahead of time and use alternative routes where necessary.
- Parking along the Promenade within the closed section will be suspended during these hours.
- Public transport services, including buses and trams, may be subject to diversion—please check with local operators for updated schedules.
