Upgrade works on tram tracks in Fleetwood are set to resume following the Easter holiday.
While a full service will be in operation over the bank holiday weekend, trams will again terminate at the Fisherman’s Walk stop from Tuesday, April 7, until Tuesday, April 14. A full service will resume on Wednesday, April 15.
Steve Staley, Tramway Operations and Safety Manager at Blackpool Transport, said: “This essential work started on March 15, and our contractors have worked tirelessly to ensure we can run a full timetable over the holiday.
“However, some further work is required, and so Fleetwood Ferry, Victoria Street and London Street tram stops will need to close for another week to help ensure we can deliver more reliable and comfortable services in the future.”
During the closures, Blackpool Transport advises customers travelling to and from the ferry to use Service 1 or 14 to start or complete their journeys. A full tram service will remain in operation between Fisherman’s Walk and Starr Gate, south of Blackpool town centre.
“Once again, we would like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding as we continue to invest in upgrades across the network,” Steve added.
