A new local brewhouse called 'Raleside' will occupy one of the retail units beneath the council offices at Bickerstaffe Square in the town centre.
The business had originally planned to use the name 'Trainwreck' inline with its other venue, called 'Shipwreck', which is located at Victoria Road West in Cleveleys, however the name was rejected by council officials.
A spokesperson for the new venue tells us:
"Introducing 'rALEside. The council and some members of the public didn't feel Trainwreck was the best image they wanted to project so we were more than happy to change the name." "I think there was a bit of soul searching but the council trust us to be responsible tennants [sic] (over an empty coffee house at least)"
"We brew our own beers in Poulton and are investing in a modern kitchen with full breakfast, lunches, small plates etc."
"We've been approved for outdoor seating area."
It's understood the new venue will open at the end of July 2024 and the company shared their interior and exterior plan:
