Rosemere Cancer Foundation has thanked cardiac physiologist Kat Smith after she completed the Manchester Marathon as part of a major fundraising challenge
Kat, from Cottam, has raised more than £5,300 for the charity following treatment for bowel cancer at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The 40-year-old completed six running events over the past year, finishing the marathon alongside her sister Helen in just over five hours.
Kat said she took up running to support both her physical and mental health during treatment and recovery.
