Households across Fylde will soon be able to recycle cartons in their blue bins.
From April 1st, Tetra Pak-style cartons used for items like fruit juice, long-life milk and soups will be accepted alongside other recyclables.
Fylde Council says the move brings the area in line with the government’s Simpler Recycling rules and should help reduce waste going to landfill.
Councillor Michelle Morris, Lead Member for Customer and Operational Services, said: “This is a really positive step forward for recycling in Fylde. Cartons are something most of us use every single week, so being able to recycle them from the kerbside will make a genuine difference. It’s another example of us making it as easy as possible for residents to recycle more.”
This latest addition follows toothpaste tubes joining the blue bin last year, alongside rigid plastics and glass. To find out everything that can be recycled in Fylde, visit https://new.fylde.gov.uk/resident/bins-recycling-and-rubbish/which-bin-do-i-use/
