The family of a man who died after being hit by a car in Accrington have paid tribute to him.
Matthew Weller, aged 44, was struck by a vehicle at the junction of Blackburn Road and Birch Street on the evening of April 22.
Emergency services were called shortly after 10pm, but he later died in hospital.
Police say the car, a Volkswagen Passat, failed to stop at the scene and was later found abandoned nearby.
Five men have since been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody.
In a statement, his family described him as a “much-loved son, brother and uncle” who will be deeply missed.
Officers are continuing enquiries and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.
