A man has been arrested following a reported rape at Preston Bus Station.
Lancashire Constabulary said they were called to the scene on Tithebarn Street at around 6.46am yesterday (Saturday).
The incident is reported to have taken place inside the male toilets at the station.
A 20-year-old man from Preston has been arrested on suspicion of rape and remains in police custody.
Officers say the woman involved is being supported by specially trained staff.
Police have described the incident as isolated and say a dedicated team is investigating.
A cordon was put in place at the scene while enquiries were carried out.
Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious between 5.30am and 6.30am is being urged to contact police quoting log 284 of April 18.
