Lancashire Police have charged a man with attempted murder after a woman was assaulted at an address in the Plungington area of Preston.
Officers were called shortly before 11pm on Monday, December 11, to a report a woman in her 50s had been found with head injuries.
They arrested a 46-year-old man shortly afterwards.
Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, Aiden Burns, 46, of no fixed address, was charged with attempted murder.
He has been remanded to appear at Preston Magistrates Court.
