A man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison following a violent knife attack in Preston.
Cristinel Gogalea, aged 22, admitted attempted murder after attacking a man at a flat in July last year.
The victim, a man in his 40s, was found seriously injured nearby and required hospital treatment and surgery.
Police say the attack happened after the victim answered his door during the night and was assaulted inside his home.
Officers later linked Gogalea to the scene through evidence including a mobile phone and CCTV footage.
He was arrested shortly afterwards when a vehicle was stopped in the area.
At Preston Crown Court, Gogalea was given a 30-year sentence, including an extended licence period.
Two relatives, Rebeca Anitescu and Marian Anitescu, were also jailed for assisting an offender.
Police say the case highlights the serious consequences of knife crime and the importance of bringing offenders to justice.
