A special military parade will take place in Leyland today as The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment is granted the Freedom of the Borough.
The parade, starting at 11.30am on Saturday 25 April, will march through the town centre before arriving at the Civic Centre for an inspection ceremony.
The honour will be formally presented by the Mayor of South Ribble, Paul Wharton-Hardman.
Freedom of the Borough is the highest civic honour a council can give, recognising exceptional service and strong links to the local community.
Organisers say the event is a chance for residents to celebrate the regiment’s long-standing connection to the area.
Rolling road closures will be in place during the parade, and members of the public are encouraged to come along and watch.
