More than £21,000 for RSPCA branch

The community’s rallied round an animal charity in Huncoat facing possible kennel closures.

RSPCA Lancashire East Branch says it’s raised more than £21,000 in two weeks after warning rising costs could force it to shut its dog facilities.

Around 390 people have signed up as monthly donors — but the centre still faces a projected £180,000 deficit.

Bosses say they need an extra £15,000 a month to keep the kennels open beyond the end of March.
