Former Norwich and Southampton winger Nathan Redmond has joined Championship side Blackburn.
The 32-year-old, who has just under 500 career appearances across the Premier League, Championship and Turkish Süper Lig on his CV, joins on a short-term deal as a free agent.
Redmond’s arrival will bolster the club’s attack for the Championship run-in, with seven games remaining.
At 16 years and 173 days, he became his boyhood club Birmingham City’s second-youngest ever player when he made his debut in the League Cup second-round tie against Rochdale on 26 August 2010.
He went on to appear in the FA Cup and Europa League before making his league debut against Middlesbrough in August 2011. He netted the first goal of his senior career against Nacional to help Birmingham qualify for the group stage of the Europa League.
Redmond earned caps at every England youth level from Under-16s to Under-21s, playing 38 times and scoring 10 goals for the latter age group.
In the summer of 2013, Redmond rejoined former boss Chris Hughton at Norwich City. After suffering relegation from the Premier League in his first season, he helped the Canaries achieve promotion back to the top-flight via the play-offs.
Following another relegation in 2016 at Norwich, he completed a move to Premier League side Southampton, where he would go on to play 195 times in the Premier League for the Saints, scoring 21 goals.
On 16 March 2017, he earned his first and only England cap, appearing as a 66th-minute substitute in a friendly against Germany that finished 0-0.
In September 2022, he linked up with former Rovers boss Valérien Ismaël when he made the move to Turkish giants Beşiktaş. He scored five goals in 25 Süper Lig appearances as the Istanbul club finished in third place.
In the summer of 2023, Redmond returned to England, joining Burnley, where he featured 12 times as the East Lancashire side suffered relegation from the Premier League.
In November 2025, he joined Championship side Sheffield Wednesday on a short-term deal until the end of January 2026.
He now joins Rovers on an initial short-term deal, with the club intending to include the attacker in its amended 25-man squad, subject to EFL/FA ratification.
