Royal Preston Hospital has installed new graphics in its Paediatric Emergency Department to create a calmer and more welcoming environment for young patients.
The artwork features jungle animals, nature scenes and bright colours designed to help distract and reassure children during hospital visits.
The project was created by Lancashire-based design company Marvel @ Signs and funded with support from Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Charity and sponsors including Rhodi Charitable Trust.
Matron Emma Creaser said the murals had transformed the department and were already helping to comfort children and families.
The work was completed in March, with staff reporting positive feedback from young patients.
