A new £6.6 million bridge over the River Ribble is set to open by spring 2026.
It replaces the 200-year-old tram bridge linking Preston’s Avenham Park to Penwortham, closed in 2019 for safety reasons.
Work resumed after delays due to weather and salmon breeding.
Engineers say construction is on schedule, with sections to be lifted into place this autumn.
