Preston City Council has confirmed additional funding for community events taking place in and around the city centre.
The investment will support long-running events including Preston Caribbean Carnival, Preston Jazz and Improvisation Festival, Preston City Mela, Windrush Festival and Preston Pride.
The events form part of the council’s cultural community wealth building programme and receive seed funding and operational support.
Councillor Anna Hindle said the funding would help expand the reach of the programme and bring more people into the city centre.
Events will take place across venues including Moor Park, Miller Park, Avenham Park and the Flag Market between May and September.
