Mr Kelly reveals: “Using lot 1 of the Surfacing and Civils Framework, a mini competition was issued on The Chest inviting all three available contractors to bid for the works contract.
“All three contractors submitted compliant bids and based on the evaluation criteria of 100 per cent price.
“Tarmac Trading Limited submitted the most advantageous tender with a total price of £323,567.68.
“Therefore the works contract is awarded to Tarmac Trading Ltd.
“The Works are due to commence on May 26 and be completed by July 7.
“The price for this works package will be fixed for the duration of the scheme.
“The cost of the project will be met from existing approved capital budgets.
“No major alternative options were considered as this framework was established for the specific needs of the council by allowing us to efficiently award high-value highways works schemes to pre-vetted and experienced contractors based on an evaluation criterion of 100 per cent price.”
