An investigation is underway after a woman found injured at a house in Blackburn died.
At 2.14pm on 31st January 2026 police were contacted by colleagues at the ambulance service who had attended an address in Redlam where a woman in her 70s had been found unresponsive.
She was taken to hospital with a serious head injury and died from her injuries on Monday, February 2nd.
As part of the investigation, police arrested a 75-year-old man from Blackburn on suspicion of assault and following the woman’s death he has now been further arrested on suspicion of murder.
Enquiries are ongoing and police are appealing for information.
