A Wellbeing Farm and wedding venue, where the star attraction is llamas in bow ties, had a visit from Rossendale & Darwen MP Andy McNae last week.
The Labour MP visited The Wellbeing Farm in Edgworth, to meet with Celia Gaze, the founder of the B-Corp enterprise.
Andy was interested in hearing about the challenges facing the tourism and hospitality industry and was impressed by Celia’s innovative approach to sustainability and helping businesses thrive.
He said: "We have so many great innovative businesses in Rossendale and Darwen and one of the best aspects of my job is seeing them in action and hearing their stories.
“This is especially true where llamas are involved. It was great to meet Celia, hear her exciting plans going forward, and discuss them in the context of the Government's growth and net zero agendas."
Celia said: “I appreciate Andy taking the time to understand the challenges facing the hospitality industry right now – it was a great discussion.”
March is B Corp month, and The Wellbeing Farm is passionate about inspiring other businesses to improve the economic system ethically and sustainably.
The farm was one of the first wedding venues to become B-Corp certified in March 2022. It meets the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.
Celia's journey to well-being and llamas started when she suffered burnout while working in the NHS and decided to take her life in a new direction.
