A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after reports of an assault in Preston city centre.
At 12.37pm today (Wednesday), police were called to B and M Bargains in Carlisle Street following reports of an assault.
Officers attended and found a man in his 40s had suffered a stab wound to his leg. He has been taken to hospital where his condition is described as very poorly.
A man has now been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and robbery and remains in custody.
The incident is not being treated as a terror-related incident and police ask that people do not engage in any unhelpful speculation.
