Preston is being urged to unite and vote to bring an iconic Christmas attraction back to the city centre.
For the first time ever, people across the country can help shape where the iconic Coca-Cola Christmas Truck takes its festive magic!
The iconic Coca-Cola Christmas Truck spreads festive cheer, providing unforgettable Christmas memories, while visitors enjoy festive games, win exclusive merchandise and refresh with an ice cold drink.
The famous red truck brought festive magic, excitement and a huge fantastic atmosphere to Preston in 2014, attracting large crowds into the city centre and giving people another brilliant reason to come together and celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.
Now, the call is going out to residents, businesses and families to get behind the campaign, cast their votes and show Coca-Cola just how much Preston wants the Christmas truck back.
And with an exciting festive season already on the horizon, there has never been a better time to put Preston firmly on the Christmas map.
Preston is gearing up for a fantastic festive season, kicking off with the Christmas Lights Switch On, on Saturday November 21st, when the city centre will come alive with festive cheer, entertainment and Christmas spirit.
Then, from early December, Preston on Ice will bring even more seasonal excitement, giving families another reason to head into the city centre, enjoy the atmosphere and support local businesses.
Mark Whittle from Preston BID, said: "The Coca-Cola Christmas Truck's visit in 2014 was a brilliant moment for Preston. The city centre was incredibly busy, with people coming along from across the North West to enjoy the spectacle, soak up the atmosphere and experience Preston.
"Events like this help create memorable experiences, bring people together and showcase Preston at its very best.
"With our Christmas Lights Switch On, on November 21st, and Preston on Ice arriving from early December, we're already looking forward to a brilliant festive season. Getting the Coca-Cola Christmas Truck back would be another fantastic addition.
"We're urging everyone to get behind the campaign, cast their vote and spread the word. Every vote counts, and together we can help make it happen!"
Tim Joel, Assistant Director and Head of Culture at Preston City Council, said:
“Preston has so much to offer this Christmas, from our fantastic pantomime to a whole host of festive events bringing families and visitors into the city. Having the iconic Coca-Cola Christmas Truck roll into Preston would be the perfect way to top it all off - the icing on the cake!
“It would add even more festive magic, create brilliant memories for families and give people another great reason to come into our city centre and support our local businesses. Let’s make this Christmas in Preston extra special!”
