Arrest following cash and drugs seizure in Chorley

A man’s been arrested after cash and drugs were found in a car on the M61 near Chorley.

Officers requested a Ford EcoSport to stop near to Junction 8 at around 11.15pm last night (Thursday, 9th November).

A search of the vehicle found £3,500 in cash and 100 bottles of what’s believed to be liquid morphine. The items were seized along with the driver’s mobile phone.

A 31 year old man from Stalybridge in Greater Manchester is now in custody being questioned on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class B drug and money laundering.

Operation Warrior is the Constabulary’s response to the Commissioner’s Police and Crime Plan priority of disrupting and dismantling organised crime.

Op Warrior targets the individuals and gangs involved in crime, as well as associated issues such as violence and intimidation, large scale drug supply, exploitation and fraud, all of which can cause serious harm to local communities.
