Everything you need to know for Colne’s Christmas Light Switch On

    Colne’s Christmas Light Switch On returns this Saturday to kick start the festivities in the town.

    The event which will consist of a fantastic line up of festive fun including Rodeo Reindeer, Indoor Christmas Market, Giant Snow Globe, Fun Fair Rides, Donkey Rides, Face Painting, Santa’s Grotto, Torch Lit Procession, Letter Writing to Santa, Punch & Judy Shows, Comedy Magic Shows plus so much more.

    There is an array of entertainment, live on stage from 12pm including Taz Entertainments, live music with Sophie Stott & Tom Scothern, performances from Just Imagine UK, Stage Door Youth Theatre and a sneak preview of Jack & The Beanstalk Panto.

    The event will also see the return of the magical torch lit procession before the ultimate finale live on stage where we will be joined by two very special guests, Andy Whyment & Steve Royle, followed by the fantastic firework finale.

    A road closure will be in place from 5.30am from the junction of Church Street and Windy Bank down to the traffic lights on Market Street until 10pm. All the car parks in Colne will remain open with alternative access allowing people to park up and enjoy the festive fun in Colne.

    There is also another road closure in place from 5pm until 6pm which will start at The Crown Hotel and end at St Bartholomew’s Church, this is in place to allow for the Torch Lit Procession to take place.

    Due to the road closure in place, bus diversions have been arranged with Services 60 & 2 will terminate and depart at Norfolk Street, operating via Windy Bank, Windsor Street, Byron Road then as normal route to Burnley / Nelson.

    Services M5 & M6 to Barnoldswick and Skipton will operate via Queen Street, North Valley Road, Skipton Road and omitting Colne Centre, in both directions.

    Service M3 will operate via Queen Street, North Valley Road, Byron Road to resume normal route at Heifer Lane Top, in both directions.

    Service M4 will operate via Queen Street, North Valley Road, Byron Road to resume normal route at Heifer Lane Top, in both directions.
