Stolen plant machinery recovered from Hyndburn building site

£70,000 worth of stolen plant machinery has been recovered from a building site in Hyndburn.

Ribble Valley Rural Task Force officers attended a location in the Hyndburn area and recovered around £70,000 of suspected stolen plant machinery.

The machines are believed to have been stolen from another county and have had their identities either changed or hidden before being located on a building site in Lancashire.

Both machines have been recovered to a secure location to undergo a number of further checks to establish their true identities and be reunited with their owners. A police investigation into the thefts is ongoing.

A spokesperson for Hyndburn Police said: ‘’Plant theft is an ever-increasing problem for the plant-hire industry with an estimated £100 million+ of plant stolen per year and we will therefore continue to do our bit by tackling plant machinery theft and locating stolen machinery.

‘’Any information can be reported anonymously via Crime Stoppers online or emailed to RVRTF@lancashire.police.uk.’’
