A substantial housing development of more than 100 homes is being proposed for a site in Blackpool.
A planning application has been submitted to Blackpool Council seeking full planning consent for the erection of 110 residential homes with associated parking , landscaping, public open space and accesses from Docky Pool Lane and Moss House Road, Marton.
The new proposals, from developers the Baxter Group, are designated for a site which was originally earmarked for a much larger housing estate by another developer.
A Design and Access statement on behalf of the application, provided by architects Fylde Design, states: “This D&A statement forms part of the planning application submission to Blackpool Borough Council for a residential development of 110 family homes on lands previously approved for residential development as phase 3 of the Redwood Point development located off Mosshouse Road, Blackpool.
“The scheme proposes a residential development of 110 affordable homes (6 bungalows + 104 two storey properties) with a central green public open space and children’s equipped play area.
“The original Kensington Redwood Point Outline approval included permission for up to 584 dwellings (plus shop) and the subsequent Reserved Matters Planning Approval 13/0378 granted permission for 579 two and three storey dwellings and a retail shop. “
Kensington Developments completed 137 homes at the Redwood Point development off Moss House Road before selling the remaining land to another developer, which then saw Elan Homes take over the site and has built around 86 homes on land at the east of the site.
The latest proposals from the Baxter Group offer a mixture of 1, 2, 3 and 4-bedroom accommodation. Each of the units will provide for conventional family dwellings and self-contained apartments.
