Blackpool’s Brian House Children’s Hospice has announced the cancellation of this year’s Bubble Rush event.
It’s understood one of the companies who organise the event on behalf of the charity, Off Limits Ltd, has gone into administration.
In a statement, Head of Fundraising, Linzi Warburton, said: “We’re very sorry to confirm that the Blackpool Bubble Rush event, due to take place this March, has been cancelled due to circumstances outside of our control.
“We know this will be disappointing news for everyone who was looking forward to taking part, and we share that disappointment.
‘’We explored all possible options to postpone the event until later in the year, working closely with the event’s external provider, but unfortunately this was not possible for Blackpool.
“All registered participants are being contacted directly and offered a range of options, including transferring their place to the Blackpool Colour Run in July, donating their entry fee to Brian House Children’s Hospice, or receiving a full refund of their entry fee.
“We would like to thank everyone for their understanding and continued support, which makes such a difference to the children and families we care for. We hope to welcome many of our Bubble Rush supporters to the Colour Run or another of our fundraising events later in the year.”
Blackpool Bubble Rush last took place in the resort in 2023 and was due to return this year in celebration of the hospice’s 30th birthday.
A spokesperson for Trinity Hospice and Brian House added: ‘ We can confirm that one of the parties involved in bringing Bubble Rush to Blackpool has gone into administration.’’
