More than 4,700 nominations have been submitted to recognise the people, groups and businesses making a difference across the Fylde Coast, as anticipation builds ahead of the awards night.
Voting has now officially closed for the 2025 Fylde Coast Community Awards – a celebration of the people, organisations and unsung heroes who go above and beyond to support the local community. The process, which opened in early October, invited residents to nominate local businesses, charities, not-for-profit organisations and community groups for their positive impact across the region.
The response has been nothing short of incredible. A total of 326 nominees were put forward, generating over 4,700 individual nominations from members of the public. From these, 84 finalists have been selected across the main categories – with six finalists in each one – showcasing the outstanding depth of community spirit across the Fylde Coast.
The awards include a wide range of categories such as Local Music & Performance, Local New Business, Local Fitness & Sport, Local Mental Health Champion, Local Community Champion, Local Retail & Hospitality, and the prestigious Alistair Taylor Award, which recognises extraordinary acts of strength, integrity and service within the community.
This year’s event proudly supports the Fylde Kids Foundation, a local charity dedicated to helping children and young people facing hardship. The foundation provides essential support such as access to food, clothing, educational resources, and well-being initiatives, ensuring that no child is left behind due to financial or social challenges. On the night, guests will hear directly from the charity, its partners and key stakeholders about the difference their work makes across the region.
The awards evening will take place on Friday 15th November at the Village Hotel in Blackpool. While tables have now sold out, general admission tickets are still available for friends, family members and supporters of the finalists who wish to join the celebration.
The evening will feature charity presentations, inspiring speeches, a three-course dinner, drinks, entertainment – and of course, the highly anticipated award announcements.
Central Radio, the main media sponsor of the awards, will be there on the night conducting live interviews with each category winner, sharing their stories and achievements across the airwaves.
Nathan Hill from Central Radio said:
“Community is at the heart of everything we do at Central Radio, and the Fylde Coast Community Awards shine a light on the people who make our region such a special place. From volunteers and grassroots groups to local businesses and everyday heroes, these nominees are the backbone of our towns. Recognising their efforts is not just important – it’s essential. We are incredibly proud to be the main media sponsor of the event and to play our part in celebrating those who go out of their way to support others. We can’t wait to speak to the winners on the night and share their inspiring stories with our listeners.”
With record-breaking engagement and an inspiring list of finalists, the 2025 Fylde Coast Community Awards promises to be a night to remember.
