Planners at Wyre have granted permission to a change of layout to a housing development already well under way at Poulton.
Baxter Homes had previously been granted permission to build 48 homes on land south of Tithebarn Street, bordered by Berrys Lane, which had once been used for the stabling and grazing of horses.
The developers submitted a new application to Wyre planners last year seeking to change the layout of the approved development by way of the addition of an extended part of the estate road into the southwest of the site.
Those proposals were approved by the planning officer, using delegated powers, this week.
Planning papers stated: “The application seeks to change the layout of the approved development by way of the addition of an extended part of the estate road into the south west of the site.
“The number of units proposed has been reduced by 1 to 45 dwellings. As a result the proposal as first proposed sought to reduce the number of affordable houses to 7 units. Following assessment and discussions this has been revised back up to 14 units. “
Baxters have called the development The Granary and a number of houses have already been constructed.
The planning officer concluded: “The proposed layout is considered to be acceptable and the development is not considered to result in any harmful adverse impacts upon the character of the area or on the amenity of neighbouring properties.
“Subject to conditions the application is considered to comply with the relevant policies and as such is recommended for approval.”
