The M55 will be closed overnight for four nights from this evening (Monday October 3), as part of work on a major new road linking Preston and southern Fylde.
The gantry work for the Preston Western Distributor means the M55 will be closed in both directions overnight between junction one and three on Monday (October 3) until Thursday (October 6).
A brief closure of around ten minutes may also be implemented on the M6 slip road at junction 32 at around 8pm on these days, as cones are placed on the carriageway.
People are being asked to plan their journeys in advance, and the closures have been timed to minimise disruption for Blackpool Illuminations.
This means the carriageway will be closed from 9pm westbound (heading into Blackpool), and from 10pm eastbound (heading away from Blackpool).
The road will reopen at 6am each morning following the works.
