Police say they believe no crime took place following an investigation into an alleged rape in the resort
In October, officers appealed for witnesses after a report of a rape near to the Heron’s Reach Golf Course in Blackpool.
A 56-year-old man arrested on suspicion of rape has since been released with no further action to be taken.
A spokesperson said: ‘’Following extensive enquiries, we are satisfied that no crime has taken place. Thank you to everyone who shared our appeals for help.
‘’We take all allegations of rape and sexual assault seriously and work with partners to ensure victims are given the best possible support.’’
