Police are warning people to take extra care with their bank cards following a number of thefts in Blackpool town centre.
Officers say they have received several reports in recent weeks of offenders stealing cards before quickly using them to withdraw cash.
Blackpool Police say investigations are ongoing and are urging visitors and residents to keep their belongings secure when out in the town.
They recommend keeping wallets and purses in zipped bags rather than pockets, covering the keypad when entering a PIN and always checking that a card has been returned after making a payment.
Anyone who believes their card has been stolen is advised to contact their bank immediately and monitor their account for unauthorised transactions. Some banking apps also allow users to freeze their card to prevent payments.
Police are also encouraging people to use mobile wallets such as Apple Pay or Google Pay where possible, as these require biometric verification before purchases can be completed.
Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to contact police on 101 or report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
