A ‘sophisticated cannabis farm’ has been found during a raid at a property in Chorley.
Chorley’s Neighbourhood Team and Task force entered a property under Section 32 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act following two arrests that were made.
Thanks to some valuable information from the public they were able to locate quite a sophisticated cannabis farm which police believe has been set up by an Organised Crime Group.
In excess of 100 plants have been seized and the electricity was bypassed.
A spokesperson for Chorley Police said: ‘’Cannabis farms like these are a huge risk to public safety.
‘’It isn’t just the impact of the drugs on the public but the wider issues like trafficking vulnerable people to harvest the crop and not to mention the fire safety risks it poses.
‘’These cannabis farms can be found anywhere. In a residential home, in an old warehouse or even in empty old business offices. Believe it or not, this setup was located within 100 metres of a School.
‘’Thanks again for the valuable information the public provided us to be able to take these drugs off the streets.’’
If you have any information about this cannabis grow or any other possible cannabis grows you can contact crime stoppers on 0800 555 111, ring 101 or email your local task force Sergeant on 4065@lancashire.police.uk
