A man was left seriously injured following a road traffic collision in Darwen over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Police were called to Church Bank Street at 9.05pm on Saturday (23rd May) following reports that an Audi Q4 Etron had collided with a pedestrian.
A man in his 40s suffered a number of serious injuries and remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The driver of the Audi, a 28-year-old man from Old Langho was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Sgt Joe Calvert, from the Road Policing Unit, said: “This collision has left a man with a number of significant injuries and my thoughts are with him and his loved ones at this time.
“Work is ongoing to establish the full circumstances which led to the collision. We know there were a number of people in the area attending the local music festival who potentially saw what happened or captured the incident on mobile phone footage.
‘’We want to hear from them as soon as possible. We would also ask that anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage which could help us with our enquiries to contact the police as soon as possible.”
