Police are appealing for witnesses and footage after a motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a collision in Great Harwood.
At 1.38pm on Monday (10th November) they were called to Blackburn Road at the junction with West Street, to a report of a road traffic collision.
Officers attended and it was found that a Vauxhall Viva car and a Yamaha motorcycle had been in collision.
It is believed the car was stationary and the motorcycle collided with the passenger side door as the door was being opened.
The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 60s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Sgt Anthony Beckett of the Road Policing Unit said: “This was a collision which left a motorcyclist with serious injuries and my thoughts are with him as he undergoes treatment in hospital.
“As we investigate what happened, I’m appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage from the area and has not yet spoken to the police, to please get in touch.”
