Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a pensioner died following a road traffic collision in Blackburn on Saturday.
Officers were called to King Street where it was established that the driver of a grey Seat Ibiza had collided with a pedestrian at 3.40pm.
The pedestrian, a man in his 80s, was taken to hospital with a serious head injury. Sadly, and despite the best efforts of medical personnel he was pronounced deceased yesterday evening.
Sgt Josh Begbie, from the Road Policing Unit said: “As a result of this incident a man has lost his life, and my thoughts are first and foremost with his loved ones at this time.
“Work is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what led to this collision and I would ask anyone with information or footage to make contact with the police as soon as possible.
‘’I am particularly keen for anyone with dashcam footage who travelled along King Street near to the junction with Stonyhurst Road between 3.30pm and 3.40pm to get in contact, even if you didn't witness the collision.”
