Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a serious collision in Haslingden.
Officers were called to the Grane Road, between the junctions of St Crispin Way and Waterside Road, at 2.06pm on Saturday, following reports of a collision involving a white Suzuki Swift and a 12-year-old child.
The child was taken to hospital with a serious head injury.
A road closure remained in place for around four hours to allow for medical treatment and investigation work but has since been re-opened.
Sgt Laura Kendall, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This collision has left a child with some serious injuries. He remains in hospital at this time and his family are continuing to receive support.
“Work is ongoing to establish the full circumstances which led to the collision occurring and I would ask any witnesses we haven’t already spoken to or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage which could assist us in our enquiries to make contact with the police as soon as possible.”
