Firefighters from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service are tackling a fire on the Shadsworth Industrial Estate, Sett End Road in Blackburn.
10 fire engines and multiple special appliances including aerial ladder platforms, the drone team and a firefighting robot are in attendance. The fire involves a large quantity of plastic at a commercial property.
There is a multi-agency response to this incident and the partners are working together to bring it to an end as quickly as possible.
The following advice has been issued:
Keep windows and doors closed if you are nearby to avoid the smoke.
Please avoid the area if you can.
Drivers in the area should also keep windows closed.
Access remains to businesses on the industrial estate however there is some disruption from emergency operations.
Local schools and Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital remain open.
You may notice black spots of soot on vehicles and buildings they will wash away when it rains or can be washed away with a hose pipe.
