A man has been jailed after a cannabis farm was discovered in Accrington.
On 26th September 2024, following information from the public, officers were conducting enquiries into an abandoned premises on Manchester Road.
Ryan Humphries, who was opening the gate to the property, spotted our officers and began acting suspiciously, telling them he had been staying at the premises.
On entering the building, officers discovered a cannabis set-up with over 100 large plants, fans, lights and other drug paraphernalia. The electricity in the building had also been bypassed, and Humphreys was arrested and later charged with Cannabis cultivation and abstracting electricity.
On Thursday, 30 October 2025, Humphries, 24, of Barton Lane, Manchester appeared before Manchester Crown Court and was sentenced to 28 months in prison.
