What began as an April Fool’s prank has turned into a highly anticipated real-life event.
Local vocalist Jess McGlinchey announced a Hannah Montana-themed show on her Facebook page as a joke, only to find overwhelming support from fans urging her to make it a reality. Now, five months later, "Miss Montana - A Tribute to Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus" is set to debut at The Holgate in Burnley on August 16, 2024.
The buzz around the show is in part due to what Rolling Stone Magazine recently dubbed "The Hannah Montana Era" of musicians. Pop stars like Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan have credited the Disney show as their inspiration and introduction to music. Jess McGlinchey considers herself a part of this generation, having been deeply inspired by the story of a young girl dreaming of pop stardom.
"The blonde wig is at the ready and the tunes are lined up!" McGlinchey exclaimed. The performance will feature unforgettable hits like "Rock Star," "If We Were a Movie," "Hoedown Throwdown," and "The Best of Both Worlds," with a few throwback Miley Cyrus songs thrown in for good measure.
Tickets for the show are available via Ticket Source, with standard entry priced at £10 and VIP tickets at £18. VIP tickets include a goody bag, a free drink on arrival, and a raffle ticket for a chance to win Hannah Montana merchandise. What started as a lighthearted prank has blossomed into a full-fledged tribute show, celebrating the enduring legacy of Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus. Fans old and new are eagerly anticipating what promises to be a night of nostalgia and great music.
