The Utilita Energy Hub Blackburn has been formally recognised for its exceptional contribution to the local community, receiving a Certificate of Recognition as part of Volunteers’ Week 2026.
Presented personally by the Deputy Mayor of Blackburn, Councillor Shaukat Hussain, the award celebrates the Hub’s year-long commitment to supporting residents through energy advice, tackling fuel and food poverty, strengthening community partnerships, and delivering events that have made a meaningful difference to people’s lives.
In addition to the Hub-wide accolade, every member of the team has been awarded an individual certificate acknowledging their dedication and daily efforts to support the local community.
Team members who were unable to attend the Big Thank You ceremony will still receive their certificates, ensuring everyone’s contribution is recognised.
Helen Kyne, Head of Energy Hubs at Utilita Energy, said: “The Blackburn team embodies everything our Energy Hubs stand for – compassion, commitment, and genuine community spirit.
“Their work over the past year has changed lives, and this recognition is incredibly well deserved. I’m immensely proud of every single team member for the difference they make every day.”
Volunteers’ Week is an annual UK-wide celebration, running for over 40 years, that shines a spotlight on the invaluable contribution of volunteers and community organisations across the country.
“Huge congratulations go to the entire Utilita Blackburn Hub team on this fantastic achievement and our thanks go to Blackburn with Darwen LVP for inviting us to the Big Thank You event,” added Helen.
