A joint operation between Lancashire Police and British Transport Police to break down county lines drug dealing in Preston led to several arrests and the seizure of drugs.
The operation was carried out on Monday (8th December) and has so far led to two people being charged in connection with the supply of Class A controlled drugs.
Arrests were made at different locations across Preston and in the city centre.
Quantities of heroin and crack cocaine were seized, as were three hunting knives and a lock knife.
Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, Jordan Dyer, 24, of Morris Road, Ribbleton, Preston, was charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to supply and possession of heroin with intent to supply.
He was remanded in custody to appear before Preston Magistrates Court yesterday (9th December).
A 17-year-old boy from Preston was charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to supply and remanded to appear before Preston Magistrates Court.
Three men, aged 53, 50 and 20, and a 39-year-old woman, who were all arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply, have since been released on bail with conditions, pending further enquiries.
Lancashire Police and British Transport Police work together to disrupt and stop the supply of drugs across the county and will aim to bring to justice those who choose to involve themselves in such criminality.
During Monday’s operation, four further people were arrested and subsequently charged.
Lyndon Cornwell, 32, of St Aidan’s Park, Bamber Bridge, was charged with three offences of theft from a shop and remanded to appear at Preston Magistrates Court yesterday.
Kayleigh Gray, 37, of Lutwidge Avenue, Preston, was charged with one offence of theft from a shop and bailed to appear before Preston Magistrates Court on 13th January.
George Church, 24, of Fylde Road, Preston, and Jessica Smith, 31, of West Park Avenue, Preston, were both charged with breaching court bail and remanded to appear at Preston Magistrates Court yesterday.
